On its web pages, the ZEIT-Stiftung makes use of the Adobe Typekit service in order to achieve optimal web typography for the reading of digital texts and the use of font styles. The service provider requires the following information for billing purposes from the ZEIT-Stiftung: which fonts are provided by which service, the user-ID of the client, the application required to use the fonts, the server providing the fonts, the hostname of the download page, and the time required to download the fonts. Adobe collaborates with other font providers in order to be able to provide the required fonts for visiting websites on your computer via Typekit. The loading of these web fonts is enabled through a server call to Adobe. This entails the storing of the IP-address of the browser on your computer by Adobe. Further information is available in the Adobe protection guidelines.

Ionic Framework provides the development platform for building the application. Data transmission is done through the Ionic Cloud to the service providers at Google Analytics or Push Notifications, and from there to the smartphone, depending on the application. Through the device ID the user is registered for Push Notifications and data is stored at Google, Apple and Ionic. With the initial login, the user automatically receives Push Notifications, which can be deactivated under settings. The application collects location data in order to locate the user on Google Maps via GPS. This location data is neither analyzed nor stored for a longer period (it is stored for only a few seconds on your device). Access to photos / files on the smartphones is only enabled when a user changes his or her profile on the platform. Beyond this there is no access, storage or analysis of any photos / files. There is neither access to the phonebook nor storage or analysis of its content. During use of the application, the WLAN-connection status online / offline is registered and displayed through the device platform. There is no long-term storage or analysis of this information.
